The Eat Tri-Cities Newsletter: The best eats and drinks in Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, and Port Moody

It's time to eat your way through the Tri-Cities 🍦🍔🌮🍣🍤🍩

Hello readers, Facebook followers, foodies, and anyone else who found us!

I have some very exciting news to announce about where Eat Tri-Cities is heading. But first, a look back.

My name is Tina, and I started the Eat Tri-Cities Facebook Group in August 2020 as a way to share the delicious food I’d been enjoying around the area (which was mostly take-out, given that dine-in was closed thanks to COVID).

I was surprised and delighted to see the group growing on its own. It seemed like everyone else was also curious about what to order and which local businesses to support while we were all stuck at home. We reached 5,000 locals, then 10,000 within just a couple of months. Tri-City News even wrote a story about what we were up to.

We now have nearly 15,000 members—and it’s no surprise, there are so many locals across Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, and Port Moody (and beyond) who are looking for places to eat and drink at each and every day.

But as the group kept growing, I felt like we needed a better way to stay on top of all the local openings, industry news, and deals. We needed an outlet just to let people know what’s in our backyard.

Well, today I’m excited to announce that we’re launching a weekly newsletter to accompany the amazing content that has been shared in the Facebook group. The newsletter will be sent out Thursday mornings, and will feature exclusive content for ETC members.

The ability to take this step was made possible by a recent partnership with Overstory Media Group (OMG), a collection of community publications that includes the Burnaby Beacon, Fraser Valley Current, New West Anchor, and Vancouver Tech Journal.

This partnership will give us the ability to grow and create more local content—for locals, by locals. Nothing’s changing to the Facebook group; it will remain private for members (join now if you haven’t already!). But consider the newsletter the best way to find the latest deals, new openings, hottest spots, events, menu items, and more, all in one place.

We’ll be collaborating with local restaurants, and any reviews will be completely unbiased and unpaid—no one can ever pay us to post a review!

I’ll be working alongside Overstory to connect you to the Tri-Cities’ best spots, to support the community’s local food scene, and to keep you all updated on the latest events, deals, and news.

So sign up for the newsletter today (for free!) at eattricities.ca, and keep an eye on your inbox for our very first newsletter on Thursday, Sept. 1!

Thank you so much for the support over the past two years. Eat Tri-Cities wouldn’t be where it is without all of you!
