Closing soon: Dessert cafe Basak Cafe (at North Rd & Young Dr) has announced they’ll be closing their doors on March 28 after 4 years. “We have decided to spend more time with our family,” they posted.

The best of the best: The Georgia Straight’s 27th Annual Golden Plates Awards voting opens this week. Visit the Straight starting tomorrow and weigh in on the best restaurants in the Tri-Cities and around Metro Vancouver.

New menu item: Doughnut Love has brought back Lemon Dole Whip soft serve – and it’s both dairy and gluten free. Find it now until the end of summer.

Changing hands: Creekside Coffee Factory has sold its Barnet location. The new owner will be changing the business name, but staff and coffee beans aren’t changing.

Closed: Goen Sushi in Suter Brook Village has closed its doors.
